Q: Are drivers needed in order to start
using the player?
A: No; this is a plug-and-play player
that should automatically install on your computer when plugged in
(unless you have Windows 98, which does require a driver). The disc
included contains a video convert tool that allows you to load
videos clips; it isn’t necessary to start loading music unto your
player.
Q: How do I navigate through the player?
A: The Menu button acts as the select
button, not the center button. In order to enter into the options
in the main menu press the Menu button. Once in the Music section,
it will take you to the first track. To access other folders and
tracks press the Menu button, then go to “Local Folder” and press
Menu again. This is the same for the Movie section.
Q: How do I create different folders for
different artists and albums?
A: You can do this by accessing the
player in My Computer (it shows up as a removable disk and usually
is the E: or F: drive). Once in there create a new folder by
selecting that option in the menu on your computer. From there you
can name the folder and put your music files inside it. You can
also make subfolders inside a folder (in case you want multiple
albums listed under the same artist).
Q: Why is my player shutting off by itself
after a few seconds?
A: The player has a power-saving
setting that will shut off the player after a certain amount of time
of inactivity. In order to increase the shut-off time or turn this
feature off completely, go to Setup in the main menu and press
menu. From there, go to “power off” and press menu again. Then go
to the “off time” option and press menu, and then adjust the time by
pressing the arrows. To turn it off set the scale to zero.
Q: Why doesn’t the music I loaded unto the
player show up when I unplug it from my computer?
A: This is likely an indicator that the
files loaded are not compatible with this player. For example,
iTunes MPEG4 files and protected (DRM) MP3's are not compatible.
There are also forms of video that can not be converted such as
Winamp and VOB files. Standard AVI, WMV and MPeg2 can be
converted. Standard mp3 files and unprotected wma files should load
unto the player without any issues.
Q: Why is the screen on my player going
black after a few seconds?
A: Like the previous question, the
answer is that it’s a power-saving setting. To adjust the time or
turn it off, go to Setup, press menu, then go to LCD set and press
menu. Once there it will have either a “black” or “dark mode”
option. Go to it and press menu, then adjust the time by pressing
the arrows. To turn it off set the scale to zero.
Q: Why is it only playing the first 10
seconds of a song then skipping to the next track?
A: This is due to an “intro” setting on
the player. To turn this setting off, while a song is playing press
menu. In the list of options go to “Repeat” and press menu, then go
to “Normal” and press menu; doing this will turn that setting off.
Q: Why is the radio is not tuning in.
A: It could be one of two reasons.
Either the FM signal in your area is to weak for the player or you
do not have the headphones plugged in. The headphones act as
the antenna and the player will not tune to a station unless they
are plugged in.
