Getting Started:
- First off, installing the CD isn’t necessary
to start using the player unless you have Windows 98. This is a
plug-and-play player, meaning that when plugged in it should
automatically be recognized and installed by your computer. The CD
contains a video convert tool that is needed to download videos to
the player, as well as the driver for Windows 98 if needed. Again,
no drivers or software is needed if you have Windows 2000, XP,
Vista, etc.
- To install the video software, look for the
setup file in one of the folders on the CD and follow the prompts
- Hook up player to computer via USB Cable
- Computer should detect it and show it as a
Removable Disk in My Computer

Music Transfer Method 1 (Easiest)
One method of transfer is simply by dragging and
dropping. To do this:
- Double Click on the removable disk icon for
the MP4 player (usually the E: or F: drive). It will open up and
have some sample files on it.
- If you also open up the folder with your music
(typically the My Music folder) you can select the files you want
and drag and drop them directly into the player (removable disk)
- You can drag and drop by left clicking on the
song you want. Keep it clicked and than drag it over the folder you
want to put it in and release. If you hold down the CTRL button
while clicking you can select several songs at once.
- You can organize your music, photos, and
videos on the player by creating folders on the player (I recommend
making three main folder called Music, Photos and Videos). This is
done the same way as creating folders on your computer’s hard
drive. Right click on an empty space in the main folder and select
new, then folder. To create subfolders open up the newly created
folder and repeat process.
Music Transfer Method 2
You can also copy music files from Windows Media Player (there are
several different versions of windows media player so the illustration
below may vary from what yours looks like)
- Open up Windows Media Player (If you do not
already have it, you can install it from the disc that came with the
player or you can download it from the internet. It is free)
- Select Copy to CD or Device (or Sync in some
versions)
- From here you can add those files you wish to
transfer over.
- If not already selected, change the right hand
column to your removable drive (MP4 player)
- The left hand column is from where you are
copying from. The diagram below reflects songs I brought into now
playing from a CD I ripped.
- Before you can transfer music files onto the
player they need to be on your computer. To Copy a CD place the
Audio CD in the computer and click on Copy from CD. Windows Media
Player will copy and place them in the Media Library. Once copied
you can right click on the songs to edit them. In most cases you
will need to put in the name of the artist and title and genre (if
you wish) of each track copied.

If you have purchased Music from iTunes or a
similar music site (downloaded songs that are protected) and would like
to play it on the player first burn it as an Audio CD than rip it and
save it on your computer in a MP3, WMA or similar format.
Navigation and other useful
information
The most important thing to remember about
navigation is that the Menu button is the select button, not the play
button. Holding the menu button down and keeping it depressed for a
few seconds will bring you back to the main screen no matter where you
are. Also, while navigating, if the player is left idle for 5 seconds
it will return to the previous screen.
To play a song, go the music icon and hit menu. It
should take you to the first track. Hitting the play button will start
the song, the arrow buttons will change tracks and the menu button will
take you to folder navigation (if any). Browsing Photos or Playing
Videos works the same way. Videos need to be converted before viewing
(see procedure below). Photos just need to be in jpg or bmp format.
If you hit the menu button while playing music it
will go to the playing options. You would use this feature if you
wanted to select random play, as well as change the equalizer setting.
If you hit the menu button while the music is not
playing it will take you to the file structure. Selecting local folder
will allow you to navigate the different folders (If you have created
subfolders under the Music Folder)
Power Saving
Settings
There are power saving features on this player that
will automatically power it off if idle and/or cause the screen to
darken. These are not indications of defect. You can choose to turn
them off. Go to Setup in the main menu, press menu, and then go to
power off. There will be two options one for sleep and one for power.
You can change the power off and sleep to 0 to turn off or turn them up
to 60 for max time allowed. Also to shut off the “black” mode, go to
LCD set in the Setup menu. There will be a “dark mode” or “black”
option. Select that and adjust the scale to zero to turn it off or turn
it up to 60 to extend the time before it blacks out.
To view video files on the player you will first
need to convert them to an AMV file. To do so you will need to use the
AMV Convert Tool installed from the CD. Program is located under
start>mp4 utilities>amv tool convert. The program is illustrated
below. Actual design look could vary.

The input field will be the file you want to
convert. The output field is where you want it saved. When ready
select the slanted up and down arrows just left of the play button. It
will than proceed to convert your video to AMV format. Note:
Converting your file will not change the original file; it simply will
make a copy under the AMV format.
Select
Video frame for AMV file instruction(see below)
Remark:“96*64” for 1.2 inch screen
“128*96” for 1.5 inch screen
“160*120” for 1.8 inch screen
Warning: if you don’t choose the right video
frame as MP3 Player screen frame, the transferred AMV file can’t be
played in the MP3 Player successfully. It will be showed blank screen or
motley image in the screen .
The interface for AMV
transfer tools as follows. You need to highlight the file than hit the
settings box which is the gear looking picture

“96*64” for 1.2 inch screen
“128*96” for 1.5 inch screen
“160*120” for 1.8 inch screen
-Disk Error/Format Error
Occasionally the file structure may get corrupted and
you will get a disk error or possibly format error when you try and play
music. To fix this problem do a format of the player (Format the player
please don't format your hard drive :) ). Go to My Computer. Plug in
the MP3 player. When the player pops up as a removeable hard drive right
click on it. Go to format. Select quick format and start.
-Format Error
Can also be an indicator of a file system not compatible
with this player. It can also mean format of song is not compatible
with player. Itunes MPEG4 and Protected (DRM) MP3's are not
compatible. There are also forms of video that can not be converted
such as Winamp and VOB files. Standard AVI, WMV and MPeg2 can be
converted.
-Sound only coming out of one side
May be a defective pair of earbuds. Try another set.
If the problem still exists the audio jack is bad and the unit will need
to be replaced
-Player is not recognized by computer
Try it on another computer. If problem still exists
than either you have a bad USB cable or USB connector on bottom of
player is loose. If the USB connector seems fine we can send a
replacement cable first to see if that fixes the problem. If not
than unit will need to be replaced
-Player not charging or only lasting a
couple of hours
Make sure you attempt to charge with the computer if not
charging with the wall unit. Make sure it has a proper connection with
the computer (computer recognizes it) and that the battery indicator on
the player shows that the battery is being charged. If still not
charging there is a battery issue and player will need to be replace
-Stuck on hour glass
Firmware is corrupted. Replacement needed
-Unit Powers Off
There is a powersave feature that will turn the unit off
if idle. You can turn this feature off. See our instructions. Check to
make sure unit is charged. If the player turns off as soon as it is
powered on or while accessing the music file, the unit is defective and
will need to be replaced.
-Only plays first 10 seconds of song
Player is on Intro Mode. To change start playing song.
Hit menu, go to repeat, hit menu. Select normal and hit menu
